There is also a factor of different features.

One is eraser. Many tablets allow you to turn the stylus around have  
have the back of it work as a tip of a different type.

Another is tilt. For many this is a significant feature and worth the  
extra cost.

There there are the general "quality" factors of pressure sensitivity  
and resolution. Those affect how precise you can be.

(it's looking like they have dropped the Graphire for the Bamboo lines)


OS support is one other factor. I used to have an old serial Aiptek  
tablet. Worked decently, but was not supported under Linux. Wacom  
tablets have the benefit of being "the standard" so support for them  
under Linux is very robust.
