Well, you could try the curves (layer-colors-curves I think).
Copy the following and paste into a blank text document: (omit the lines 
at top and bottom)

save with some name (I am not sure whether an extension is necessary or 
not), then load the curve from within the curve tool. If you do this 
correctly, you should see the shape of the curves for each color and value.
It was a quick fix and so not so good, but it should give you some ideas.
