Exactly what format would that be, then? Could you upload a sample of
such an image?
GIMP normally offers you to choose the image file format in which to
save an image in a similar way as most software: you can either just
type in the name of a file with extension, and the format will be
deduced from the extension. Or you can choose the format from a list,
and the extension will be added automatically. Doesn't this work for
you? Please tell us exactly how you save the images and exactly what
the file save dialog does for you.
