You need to convert the RAW files to TIFF or minimally compressed JPG.

Your camera woud have come with software to do this; there are various commercial RAW convertors available which will probably have additional useful features.

This may sound like a lot of trouble, but shooting in RAW has so many advantages that most  serious DSLR owners use it exclusively - as will you once you get used to the proceedure.
