Hi Niklas,

The first time you load gimp (or the first time after delete
 you delete the .fonts.cache-1)it take a while for gimp to load. This 
is because gimp is building a database of the fonts eg fonts.cache-1, 
i suggest you leave it for a few minutes maybe go have a cup of 
coffee.

Once this cache has been built gimp should load a lot faster.
