Re: lightening up a dark pgoto

I see someone has suggested using the Brightness-Contrast Tool but you
also may want to try duplicating the layer and then change the layer
mode to Screen.  If that is not enough you can make yet another layer
with the mode to screen and get additional brightening.  It is a very
useful technique for under exposed images.
