GIMP on VISTA?

Hi all
  Can anyone tell me if GIMP will run/work on MS VISTA?
   
  I'm just about to get a new computer soon and suppliers (ie Dell) are shipping new systems with MS VISTA and only give me the option to have XP Pro or Media Centre with an upgrade to Vista only free for a month then have to pay for upgrade. So if I just get it with Vista I need to know will GIMP run on it. 
  The GIMP web site does not indicate there are download versions for Vista but has other o/s.
  I'm a bit of a novice so not able to configure new system to run multi-platform (ie XP + Vista + Linux). So can anyone help me with my query and if GIMP can run ok on Vista which version from GIMP.org do I choose to download?
  If anyone can help I am v.grateful.
