hi, > Try using Ghostscript for simple PS conversion! and to help: gs -sOutputFile=myoutput.gif -sDEVICE=gif -dQUIET -dNOPAUSE -dBATCH inputfile.ps of course, its not limited to this....if you do gs -h you can see all the types of output devices you can use...just change the -sDEVICE argument :-) alan PS I've just upgraded the Solaris desktops here to the latest Gimp 1.2.2 (with all the extras, eg extra-data, PDL, latest Gtk etc and its so much better than the precompiled GIMP 1.0 that you find on the Net for Solaris8
