[Gimp-user] Thin straights

I am new with GIMP. I have problem with drawing straight slash lines with
the pencil. Line, which IMO should look like:

##
  ##
    ##
      ##

but looks like:

###
  ###
    ###
      ##

Why? When I use measure tool or see preview of line, line looks like
above, but once drawn, looks like below.
