I have Bitstream Type1 fonts installed, but when I call them by > name (e.g., "BakerSignet"), I get an error message that the font is not > found. in addition to what you have I found ( via http://gimp-savvy.com/BOOK/index.html ) some info at the URL shown for help in getting more fonts installed and I was amazed how simple it was and the fonts are very nice and at least were sufficient for my needs. they are freefonts and sharefonts and you can get them at: ftp://ftp.gimp.org/pub/gimp/fonts/ ftp://metalab.unc.edu/pub/linux/X11/fonts/ and to install them ( outside of usual unpacking stuff ) do: % xset fp+ ~/FONTS/freefont % xset fp rehash worked flawlessly for me and I was delighted at what all I had available for my creative forces :) HTH's lee -=====
