is removed at the recent change for 2.8, but it may still be necessary
for multi-window mode on 2.8. In multi-window mode, though, the pull-down
selector, Auto button, and "Show Image Selection" toggle-switch command
entry of tab's menu are shown, GIMP hides them in single-window mode.
Would you mind to revert this section? This function is also mentioned at
dialogs/images-dialog.xml.
