Tony,

Now is not the time to be making strategic decisions (pro or con).

Once Redhat's plans become public, the long term future of OpenGFS will
be decided.

OpenGFS and GFS had a common codebase 2 or 3 three years ago, so they
are not that different, ie. even if OpenGFS becomes unsupported,
openMosix can use GFS.

One of the biggest weaknesses in the currently released OpenGFS is that
the lock server is a SPOF (single point of failure). (Eliminating SPOFs
is the goal of the next major OpenGFS release series.)

That may not be critical to Mosix, but I assume that a solution without
a SPOF is preferred.

Hopefully a future release (this summer?) of OpenGFS will support
OpenDLM in order to (optionally) eliminate this SPOF.

Before this could happen OpenDLM needed a significant amount of work, so
it became the focus of effort.
