Hello y'all, Last week I checked into the EVMS CVS tree some final code for the EVMS File System Interface Module (FSIM) for OpenGFS. I think it's the 26th or 27th plug-in developed for EVMS (not counting the multiple personality plug-ins for MD support). It is able to: - probe, recognize and claim opengfs external journals, filesystem, and cidev - mkfs an opengfs filesystem along with the journals and specify the cidev for memexp protocol (if the opengfs tools are available) - coordinate an expand operation of the filesystem as a volume is expanded with EVMS (mounted of course) - fsck an opengfs filesystem volume that is mounted - unmkfs (zero out selected journal, cidev, and filesystem meta-data so that it is no longer recognized as having opengfs on it). if you unmkfs the filesystem, the fsim also clears out metadata from the associated external journals and cidev automatically While I concede it doesn't have the full functionality to please everyone (ogfsconf support to configure the cidev is not there), it is still somewhat useful. The FSIM will most likely show up in the next EVMS release (2.3) and I hope you all can give it a try and make improvements as you feel are needed. With that, I am sorry to say I won't be participating as much with either EVMS (which will continue strong without me) or OpenGFS as I've taken a new position within IBM that is not quite a development role but will keep me busy nonetheless. Being that the fsim code is GPL'd, I'm sure it will be improved and tweaked over time by someone out there.
