Summary: Gaim doesn't work with any recent version of the gtk
Initial Comment:
Gaim has not been compatible with the current gtk for
about the last year or so; is there any possibility
that things will ever be patched up so that windows
users of other gtk programs can use gaim, or maybe gaim
could package its own dll's and not share a gtk
library? Even the portableapps version of gaim won't
work when I have the current gtk installed! I hope
that the problems are fixed some day...

2.0.0beta4 will work with any GTK+ version >= 2.6.10

Yes, I have it currently working, and guess I will continue
to albeit in a limited fashion. This issue was I guess
related to having to change my router settings thanks for
the support. I did change my isp a few days before my
monitor, and also as the isp changes its ip number, (stupid
dynamic allocated number) the router fails, to assign
connections properly. I have enabled Upnp, which in the
past was not necessary (fixed mapped ip numbers), so
hopefully this will work.

I have a belkin 4-port router. I would also add that my
isp (cable) is using proxies. I wouldn't have though it is
a router problem though ??

martin3318: The crash isn't related to your resolution. It
is choking when trying to parse the UPnP response from your
router. (Which router do you have?)

Gaim doesn't work in screen resolutions larger than 1280
wide. My very long new monitor crashes game in all of its
resolutions due to gtk errors. I think gaim is fab, but now
crashes all version, including portable versions, inc all of
them.
Gaim beta 3.1 gives the following errors, this version is
beta 2.0.0 ver 3.1
Larger monitor was the only thing I changed since gaim
stopped working tryed uninstalling / re-installing /
installing others veriations or combinations of gtk / gaim /
ect. Same thing happens crashes on running in large
resolutions.
Support very very much requested. Very nice application.
