Summary: AIM invalid data error on 2.0beta3.1
Initial Comment:
This is from the AIM login using 2.0beta3.1 debug
window. It won't keep the connection, and login has
been verified on aol.com. Debug shows it seeming to
load a bunch of modules, then this. 2 lines affected by
word wrap, but the offending one seems to be:
oscar: Major connection error (invalid data was
received on the oscar TCP stream)
------------------------
dns: DNS Lookup for: login.oscar.aol.com
autorecon: done calling gaim_account_connect
proxy: Connecting to login.oscar.aol.com:5190 with no proxy
proxy: Connect would have blocked.
proxy: Connected.
oscar: Screen name sent, waiting for response
oscar: Major connection error (invalid data was
received on the oscar TCP stream).
connection: Disconnecting connection 02381D58
oscar: Signed off.

correction: gtk 2.8.18. Now to figure out what put that on
here! I'm assuming that's the problem now, correct. Sorry
for the confusion.

gaim and gtk 2.8 do not get along on Windows, due to some
changes in the way gtk does sockets. This might be the root
of your problem.

I appear to be using 2.4.0 as included with Haller's
portableapp release.

Are you using GTK+ 2.8.x?
