You may be able to do that in fonts.conf.
test name="fontformat" for the strings >TrueType<, >CFF< or >Type 1<.
Or, you might want to patch apps like OO.o, AbiWord, et al to ignore
CFF; there is a C-level api for that, too. In fact, until they actually
support CFF, they should do that upstream....
