If you want 8-bit / chiptune sounds I recommend LMMS. It has Commodore SID and GameBoy soundchip emulator softsynths. I have tried milkytracker but I had trouble understanding the cryptic interface. I really like these noises to make music so I was wondering if CCRMA packages anything similar to this?
