Unfortunately I don't have a system-config-boot in my /usr/bin folder. I will try modifying the .conf file.

Plase Change default no of /etc/grub.conf file. If Fedora is first one please change the default value is 0 . After install grub for following command grub-install /dev/hda(ur hard disk)

Tring using the system-config-boot GUI utility that comes with Fedora.
That's its sole purpose, i think :)
/usr/bin/system-config-boot
It comes from an rom package of the same name.
