I did a port last month. There are some h/w related issues in 2.4. Some
h/w don't shut down properly even after their drivers get a shutdown
notification through notifier_call_chain(&reboot_notifier_list, ...);

Will post a patch sometime this week, if its not that important. If not,
reply me privately.
