How to get K-dump file

Hi all,

I've been assigned to study and analyse the K-dump file.

But I do not know about it.

After referring to Mr. Vivek Goyal's "Debugging Linux kernel Using K-dump" pdf, I came to know that Kexec has to be used
to get the K-dump file ( I guess).

In the doc, "reboot and build kernel with CONFIG_KEXEC=y" is given.

I do not know how to build the kernel and do not understand the concepts given in the document.

So can any one explain me how to get the K-dump file?
