Re: 3rd party inks

<x-charset iso-8859-1>I use Generations pigment inks (from www.mediastreet.com) (and have also
used Bulldog, Pinnacle Gold and Indelible) in my various Epsons. I have two
9500s, three 3000s, a 5000, and previously a 7000. Both my 9500s have
Generations installed (one with a CIS). One 3000 is loaded with Cone Piezo
quadtone black inks.

IMO you must profile every new paper/ink combination or you will get
disastrous results. I have used almost exclusively 3rd party inks and papers
and a custom profile is absolutely necessary for good prints.

Whoever you talked to on the phone should be shot by the owner of that
company, if they are supposed to be a customer service rep. I don;t think
you should totally blame the inks - they may work fine with the correct
profiling. Did you talk with others who successfully used this ink in an
820?
