<x-charset iso-8859-1>I have the same problem on a similar system (1.5 G memory, 30G free HD in a 40/40 RAID system, W2000Pro). I am working on MF images scanned at 4000 to RGB, and working in PS6. Are you making sure to resample to 360dpi for printing? Are you making sure to reset to 8bit mode before trying to print? If i do those things it works out. If i use 'print options' and just enlarge the print size using the the mouse and sliders on the preview image, i get partial spooling and freeze. If i resample the file to the specific size i want, and to 360 dpi for my Epson 1280, everything spools and prints ok. If i started out trying to use 'print options' and the spool froze, then i have to close and reopen PS to use the successful method. I have tried 'purge' to see if PS memory requirements are in the way, and it made no difference. I have tried changing the amount of memory dedicated to PS in the defaults, and it made no difference. A friend of mine works for M'soft and tells me that W2000 was developed long enough ago that it does not easily address all of our memory at once, and i suspect the spooler driver has its own memory limitations. I am using >300Mb files before downsampling -- that may not fit the spool driver's ideas of a printable file.
