Jon: Thanks for putting GF in some context; I guess I'm not really surprised at your conclusions, despite what others have posted. But I have a question re the following statement: > ...all one needs is a 30 meg file to print out to any size with GF, not to store all your files as .stn. Does that mean that an accurately exposed Provia 100 35mm slide shot with an EOS-1n on a tripod and scanned into a 54-MB 48-bit 35mm TIFF file via Vuescan and a Polaroid SS 4000 would benefit from GF (compared to PS) if I wanted to res it up to a 16 x 20 or 20 x 30? Keeping my original file would be consistent with my work flow rather than storing only the stn file. Bernie - Turn off HTML mail features. Keep quoted material short.
