Without a correctly calibrated and profiled monitor, you really have nothing to compare your prints against. The PhotoCal/Spyder bundle from ColorVision is very cost effective (you don't have to get the whole suite, which includes Profiler RGB). The money you spend on it will more than pay for itself by reducing the trial and error making prints. For the printing side of the equation with Epson printers, see Ian Lyons' Photoshop Essays at http://www.computer-darkroom.co.uk/. These will help you select the best settings to get a good match using Epson's generic profiles. Matt Bird Photography, Articles, Site Guides www.mhbirdphoto.com - Turn off HTML mail features.
