<x-charset Windows-1252>Scott: To directly address your query about the blacks...below are the average black RGB values I have measured when doing fade tests: On Archival Matte or HWM...don't remember which: 1270 OEM - RGB ~ 37 Gen 4 - RGB ~ 42 2000P OEM - RGB ~ 52 to 54 Piezo Color in 1160 RGB ~ 51 to 54 So based on the above, I would definitely say that Gen 4 prints 'blacker' than the Piezo-C inks on matte papers. I might add that using the Piezo-color inks on Epson's Semi-Gloss paper will measure down in the 30's, making much deeper blacks. If I read your 'blacks' correctly on the net site referenced, you are measuring about the same results. bob snow -o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o- ----- Original Message ----- From: "Scott Hendershot" <scott@praxis-systems.com> Subject: Generations vs Piezo Color and Metamerism ....but I was left with a reduced dynamic range due to the weaker black of the Color Piezography inks. I welcome any corrections or interpretations from the group. -o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o- - Turn off HTML mail features. Keep quoted material short.
