Ptah,
I think this is what you are asking how to do:
(I had to do it several weeks ago, so had to look through the manual in order 
to figure out how to do it.)
>From the Epson user manual:
1. Make sure the printer is turned on and not printing.
2. Lower the output try and raise the printer cover.
3. Press the paper load/eject button and hold it down  for a few seconds 
until the print     head moves to the left. (printer automatically moves 
print head back to home position        after 60 secs if you donn't continlue 
with step 4.)
4. Pull up ink cartridge clamp. /Cartridge rises up from holder.
5. Lift cartridge out of printer .
6. Follow steps in previous section, "Installing new cartridge", to install 
new cartridge.
    IOW, finish by installing your cartridge as you normally do.
