<x-charset iso-8859-1>I don't know if it is the CFS, Alan. I'm having the same problem on a 1270 running OEM carts. I haven't yet tried cleaning the bottom of the heads. That's the next step. But, like you, nozzle checks are fine and alignment doesn't help. I get vertical banding at portrait orientation and horizontal banding at landscape. I can see it especially in skin tones, faint horizontal bands alternating between lighter and darker. You have to be within 8" or so to see them. My nozzle checks look perfect, no smudges, or smears, or rough edges on photo paper. I always print with highspeed off and 1440 mode. I've done alignments, but they come up to 8,8,8 by the second try and this makes no difference. I've cleaned the bottom of the heads, occassionally a head cleaning helps, but within a print or two the problem is back. At the moment I'm wondering if tension from the CFS tubes is causing the head to tweak a small fraction? - Turn off HTML mail features. Keep quoted material short.
