If you expect good B&W output from Epson Color inksets, yes you are
mistaken. This is why there are specialty Quad and Hexichrome B&W
inksets discussed on the list. The 1270 is an excellent color printer,
and can output excellent B&W, but not from the same inkset. Your choice
of printer is sound. What you want- if B&W will be your main printing
output is to permanently convert to MIS or Cone Pizzo inks for the 1270.
