The problem is not running them. Both printers run just fine concurrently.
The problem is "Monitoring" them. To be able to determine the amount of ink
left in both printers. The monitoring tool is the one that gets messed up.

I've never had an 870, but I have had zero problems
running both a 1270 and 2000P on the same computer.
And I had no problems uninstalling the driver for my
old Epson and installing the 1270 when I got it.
