<x-charset iso-8859-1>Jerry, I am using the Color Piezo inks in an 1160. The black is dismal. The dynamic range of this inkset will never match that of generations. I am using this inkset on Epson Archival Matte and Kodak Ultima Satin. I find the Ultima Satin to produce superior results to the Archival Matte. In fact the Kodak paper results in some very nice prints. But it is a synthetic base and only comes in 8.5x11. I use Profiler Pro with a Spectrocam to build all of my profiles. While a can make nice prints on Archival Matte, they just do not have the dynamic range. I have to choose what images to print with this inkset and then I need to strengthen the shadow areas with a curves adjustment to add some density. This results in a slight loss of shadow separation but without it the prints can look flat. The trouble I had with Generations was the metamerism. I understand that if you use the Generations Beta Black with the Piezo inks you will introduce metamerism and be no better off than using Generations. Contact me off list if you would like a sample print.
