when sending files from a Mac to a PC, ne sure to add the proper Windows 
extension to the file, such as .jpg or .bmp or .tif, other wise the PC may 
have trouble opening the file.  Going the other way does not matter, the Mac 
will examine the file and open it or if it cannot figure out what type of 
file it is, it will prompt you to select a program to open it with, such as 
Photoshop or other imaging program installed on the machine and then open it 
with that program.  Once opened the Mac will then know what type of file it 
is.
