Epson 740

Hello, 
I am new to the list. I have an Epson 740 and 	 have never been satisfied 
with the color when printing black & white (grayscale) or  with sepia coloring. 
All my color pictures, either from my digital camera or from a scan seem to 
turn out fine. the sepia always seems to have a purpleish cast and the black 
& white always seem to have a bluish cast. 

Can someone advise me on this. I am also thinking about getting a new 
printer of there is not a workaround for this, or will I have the same problem 
with another Epson.   Is this  something common to Epson or is it just not 
knowing how to set things up. I should add I am printing from Photoshop 6.0 
also.
