HP Jetdirect Print Servers

Does anyone have experience/knowledge in using HP Jetdirect Print Servers
with an Epson 1280?  I will be hooking up my laser printer directly to my
ethernet network and will be buying a print server of some kind for that.
I do plan to buy a 1280 and need to know if I should buy the more expensive
server that will handle two printers.  I have two desktops and a notebook
hooked up to the network.  Will most often use only one of the desktops
with the color printer but will sometimes want color output from the other
computers.  Would I be better off with the 1280 directly connected to one
desktop through the USB port or with it hooked up the network??  I am
worried about speed, reliability, convenience, etc.
