<x-charset iso-8859-1>For one particular client I have to scan 35mm films and send the files as CMYK. I can scan in RGB (Nikon LS30) and proof the images on my Epson Photo 700, but I have no idea how to accurately convert the file to CMYK so that it is closest to the original RGB image. Is there a way I could scan a target from a product like Wiziwyg or Profiler RGB, have the printers print it on their press, then generate a profile of the press which I could use when converting the file (a profile-profile conversion in PS maybe)? The specs of the CMYK settings seem awfully complicated, and I would prefer to be able to do the matching in some automated way rather than guesswork or using theoretical press specs. Apologies if this is too OT - please respond off the list if it's appropriate. Thanks in advance, Rob Rob Geraghty harper@wordweb.com http://wordweb.com - Turn off HTML mail features.
