Press proofing with PressReady question

I remember advice here in the past about press proofing through
PressReady but I can't remember it. A friend has PressReady with a 1270
and a CMYK press profile from the printer they use. There was some way
of applying both the supplied PressReady 1270 profile and the press
profile, with different rendering intents I believe. There was also
mention of hacking the press profile for PressReady. Can anybody clear
me up on this?
