<x-charset iso-8859-1>Found the ISO brightness for AM listed on the folder containing the "Print Samples" which came with the 2000P. The figures there for AM and two other archival papers: AM ISO = 99+% Opacity = 94% Thickness = 10mil Basis Weight = 192g/mē PSGPP ISO = 93% Opacity = 97% Thickness = 10mil Basis Weight = 251g/mē Watercolor Paper-Radiant White ISO = 89% Opacity = 96% Thickness = 11.5mil Basis Weight = 192g/mē Cheers, Patrick. patrick jennings synaptic § grey matter media patrick@synaptic.bc.ca eJournal Travelogue :: http://synaptic.bc.ca Fine Art & Travel Photographs :: http://greymattermedia.com Prisoners ~ A New Play :: http://greymattermedia.com/prisoners ----- Original Message ----- From: "Patrick Jennings" <patrick@synaptic.bc.ca> To: <epson-inkjet@leben.com> Sent: Monday, October 30, 2000 10:17 AM Subject: Re: HWM vs. AM surface I vaguely recall the retail clerk where I purchased my 2000P describing the difference between these two papers as "AM brighter and heavier" I can't find an ISO brightness rating for AM, but rating for HWM is, according to Epson, 97%, which is already pretty bright. However, in an eyeball comparison, the sample AM sheet does indeed appear to be brighter than HWM. Additionally, on close inspection (6"), with the light source at 45 degrees, the large-scale dimpling texture in the paper appears to me slightly more pronounced with the AM. That could be attributed to subjective factors rather than purely objective, because under a loupe they look identical. Epson rates the papers as being equivalently opaque (94%), which is interesting given that AM is 1.3 mm thicker. There's a handy point-form-description of all the 2000P papers on my website @ http://greymattermedia.com/EpsonPapers.html . The material was gleaned from epson.com, though I changed "photo paper feel" to "art paper feel" where appropriate. AM and HWM don't feel anything like any photograph I've ever felt, especially if you touch the ink.
