I see no need to resample for the printer's benefit,
unless I need to up-size the image to print at larger 
size. 

Straight off the scanner, my 35 mm negs arrive in 
Photoshop at 351 dpi most of the time, and that's 
how they get printed on a letter-sized sheet.

This business about the printer wanting multiples 
of 60 (240, 300, 360 dpi) has been brought up before.  
It *is* important if you're printing "Black Only"
but from what I've seen, it's not important if 
you're printing with all four (or six) colors.
