RE: CIS choice

<x-charset iso-8859-1>Roger,
What papers are you having good results with? I've only recently gotten my
1200/CIS/Horses combo and so far only used Epson papers, with varying
results. I'm finding Heavy Weight Matte to be frustratingly hard to
profile, Photo Paper works fine, and Semi Gloss Premium doesn't dry. I'm
about to try the sample pack that came with the CIS, but realistically may
have to settle for Epson Archival Matte since not much else is available
locally - need to try it first of course.

Hello Mike,
I've been using a NoMoreCarts CIS and Generations ink on my
1200 for 9 months and 1160 for one month. As many on the list will
testify, it's one of the greatest inventions since the inkjet
printer. Very easy to set up and essentially trouble-free in
operation. I haven't kept count, but I would guess I have printed 2
or 3 hundred 8.5x11 and several dozen 11x17. Not much by some
people's standards, but enough to know the CIS works superbly.
Whether of not you can leave the printer turned off for days
at a time depends, I think, more on the ink you are using than a CIS.
I've left my 1200 off for a week and had it print a perfect nozzle
check the first time I turned it on. Other times I've had to run a
cleaning cycle, but one is all it takes. I can't be sure, but it
seems to me the longer I use these inks the fewer bad nozzle checks I
get. Anyone else found that?
I think it is important to turn the printer off when not
using it so the print head can park properly on the resting pad.

Regards,
Roger Smith
