<x-charset iso-8859-1>Mark, I have experienced the same problem on my 1270 with both the Ilford semi-mat and the glossy. I have not found a cure for this problem yet. At first I thought that the printer was simply laying down too much black ink in the shadow areas, but as I have successfully printed some images with totally black backgrounds, I am not so sure now. The settings I have used are; Epson 1270 Space Backlit film Photoshop Levels 10-255 -10 cyan -10 magenta saturation + 10 1440 dpi HQ halftones I have found these settings to give a very good printed match for my monitor, but can't figure out what is causing the peculiarities in the dark shadow areas.
