Re: Piezography inks

Andy,

It would be nice if Somerset packaged their ink-jet papers (Somerset
Velvet and Somerset Enhanced) in a rigid envelope/box like Epson and Agfa
in quantities such as 25, 50 and 100 sheets. And I would appreciate
knowing who their French distributor is if they have one (I live in
Paris).

I ordered some A4 and A3 size Somerset Enhanced from a retailer/mailorder
company in UK and though it was fairly well packaged (corregated
cardboard on both sides of the paper which was just in transparent
envelopes, the whole surrounded by brown packing paper) the local mailman
managed to mangle the A3 paper by stuffing it into my mailbox which bent
the corner of the the whole A3 pack of paper. If it had been in a box
that wouldn't have happened, though it is the mailman's fault for being
too lazy to simply ring the bell.

CIS means Continuous Ink system and it is an ingenious method for using
3rd party bulk inks in certain Epson printers. Their website is
>http://www.nomorecarts.com< and the system is fully explained and illustrated
there. Unfortunately I don't believe they have a European distributor
yet, alas. I bought their CIS for use with PiezographyBW in an Epson 1160
and shall probably buy another for my Epson 1200 for use with archival
colour inks.

Jon Cone's Piezography BW is a combination of carbon-based monochrome
pigment inkset (greys and black) - available both as carts and in bulk
form, a special driver for Epson printers which is used as a Photoshop
plug-in and a series of profiles for printing these inks on a lot of
different papers. You can find all the relevant info at
>http://www.inkjetmall.com<
website under Piezography BW.

Cheers
