Greetings folks.. This is an offshoot from Mitchells post.. On Wed, 11 Oct 2000 15:51:34 -0400, Mitchell Printing wrote: > Now for next problem, my trusty old 800 is clogged in the black > head. I didn't put water on the pads tho.. Don't know how! Also, the nozzle test looks good.. So, is it possible the nozzle is not plugged, but I have misalignment instead? (I cant tell with the yellow, it is too pale to see against white paper.) I have been fiddling around with alignment off and on for a couple of weeks.. I'm not sure what the pattern CHANGE should be or even what to aim for.. Should I aim to have the 2 outside lines (1 & 7 pair) be equally UNequal? (4 sets of 7 pair. Each of the seven have 2 lines vertically stacked) Which is the reference lines? The top set or the bottom set? The ones that DON'T move is what I call reference lines. (I suspect the bottom) IF it is a case of making the outside lines (1 & 7) equally unequal (forcing all the ones in between to be unequal to a lessor degree except the middle which should be perfectly vertically aligned), then how do I determine which way to move? For example.. Say the top half of 7 is not as far OUTSIDE (to the right) of the lower half, as the top half of 1 is (to the left).. EeeGads! I hope I am making myself clear. This is VERY difficult to describe! :& I have been trying to pick the most Aligned of the set of 7, using a strong magnifying glass to determine which, of the middle 3 (# 3, 4, 5) are most accurately vertically aligned. There has been only marginal improvement using this technique. I still have banding but to a slightly lesser degree. Anyone know where I can find some CLEAR instructions? Forget the manual. TIA..
