RE: 1270 any good ones?

I am not having any problems with my 1270. I have printed over 300 prints on
all kinds of paper. Most of my prints are fine art prints and I don't print
much on photographic quality paper. I've used only about 25 sheets of photo
paper and only a part of that is the premium glossy variety.

Now you all probably want to know where I live and how I take care of the
prints, don't you? My prints lay around in piles in the open in my office
which has mostly glass on three exterior walls. While they don't sit in
direct sunlight, I have taken no precautions to avoid sun, nor do I keep
them behind glass or in any special protective covers. All of these prints
are happy living here in Chapel Hill, North Carolina with me!

But--and this is a big "but," I have not printed them and given them to, or
sold them to anyone where I would be concerned that they would fade. Due to
all the comments made on this list server, I sadly have deemed the printer
not usable for printing prints that must have some longevity.

The 1270 is an awesome printer for $500 and I doubt we'll see much that
compares with the print quality for sometime. So for now, I'll just continue
on using it and enjoying it.

I would bet that none of the other members of this list server that reside
in North Carolina have had problems either, even the one that is so
outspoken against Epson and the x70 printers. In fact, my bet is that it is
a very tiny fraction of users that have experienced the orangeness factor!
