Hi Laurie and others on this thread:
I use Photoshop 5, and as I posted earlier,( in digest 613), yes, you can add 
text to the contact sheet.  You add it to a separate layer. You can choose 
your font size, font type, etc. You can rotate the text. And you can 
reposition it before you drop the layer. I do it on a regular basis, to show 
samples of my artwork to clients. If anyone needs a better explanation, email 
me. Glad to help you out with it. It's really not that hard to do! And goes 
quickly once you have done your first one to get the hang of it.
