<x-charset iso-8859-1> My understanding was that the Generations inks ARE compatible with the dye-based inks (and definitely with OEM inks). The flushing of course insures against incompatibility with other third party inks (can't expect them to test against every dye-based ink out there can you ;) The flushing also insures that you are not 'diluting' the archival inks with regular inks, thus negating their longevity (at least with your first prints). So, for the most part it is not a MUST do thing, but rather an 'advised' do thing.
