Re: warming a photo round 2

Alan,

Check out the following address:

Here you will see what I did in 10 minutes with your pics. If you follow the same way I did you should get the same results.

First I used Intellihance to balance out the image, remove any cast and snap up the contrast. This sets the image up (and would be the final thing to do if the whole image was correct). While you might not have Intellihance you can do this by using Auto
Levels & tweaking the contrast to bring out the sky & flowers. Then I lasso'ed all the the bad blue areas of the hair, face (including eyes & mouth), clothing and arms. I was careful not to include any bright area highlights in the hair closest to her face
(these are already in balance and any further processing would not look fake). Once I had all that I wanted to lasso, I then feathered the lasso'ed area (I chose 3 pixels). Then I chose under the layer menu to LAYER VIA COPY function. Once I had two layers
I then chose only the new feathered layer to work with. I then used the VARIATION function to add Yellow, Red and in this case a little Magenta (usually a no-no to add three colors as I was taught but I find with digital images it doesn't follow the analog
rules of color sometimes). While adding color I also LIGHTEN the image till it looked ok. Once I had the color & brightness to something pleasing I then used the contrast command to add pop to the image (and finding I had to slightly tweak the brightness
too). I then went back to Variations to add slightly more Yellow and Red as well as a bit of Lightness. Once that was done I used used the DODGE function to lighten the whites of the eyes and teeth to something nice (they can be stubborn and I never use them
as a guide but as a separate area altogether).

What you see on that page is the end result. Let me know what you think.
