I'm currently waiting for the introduction of the CIS for the Epson 1520. In the mean time I'm considering my archival ink choices. I have previously tried MIS archival cartridges in the 1520 but was plagued by bad nozzle checks and/or defective cartridges. Unable to resolve the problem, MIS suggested that it might be a problem with my particular printer. As I haven't had similar problems with OEM cartridges I'm wondering if a dye based archival would be a better option. In light of that, is anyone aware of clogging problems with XG inks in other Epson models? Has anyone encountered similar problems with MIS archivals and Epson 1520s? - Turn off HTML mail features.
