I couldn't agree more. I'm really surprised that Epson is going this route; the US market tends to be rather unforgiving of these sorts of shenanigans. Instead of going with an open/sensible cartridge design like the Canons, they're trying to make their system even more closed and difficult than it is now. It's beginning to look like my next printer won't be an Epson... Of course, there's still the 3000, or whatever Epson has up their sleeves to replace it.
