The Epson 1600 will certainly beat the 1200 ppi PowerLook 3; the Linos may 
beat the PowerLooks, but the software is based on LAB conversions and really 
intended for use with a LinoColor workflow. While I haven't had the chance to 
make a direct comparison, I'd go with the Epson, and get the generous 
SilverFast upgade offer.
