CCD resolutions represent a significant factor in the overall cost of the
product.
Software interpolation is possible even NOW, and IMO not the same as the
real CCD resolutions.
Kodak DC290 has an interpolated resolutions of 3.3 Megapixel, yet the
quality is inferior to Olympus 2500 (2.5M)

not that exciting...it is a 3 mega pixel ccd that has an interpolation to
the 6 meg...we will have to wait to see if it is really something or not...
