Yes, but at a certain point, is it worth
the aggravation, lost time, wasted materials,
colored fingers, possible damage to printer, etc?

To me, the biggest problem with refilling was 
the uncertainty of the results, and the lost time.

Still & all, there's a huge financial incentive
to try again, or to go with some cheap off-brand
compatible carts.  (Too bad there aren't cheap,
off-brand ARCHIVAL compatible carts...)
